MY APPROACH
Haven is guided by four principles of care.
When life feels confusing, counseling helps frame your struggles through the lens of Scripture. Because we are embodied souls, we give attention to the interplay of physiological and spiritual problems, considering how God speaks into your troubles and identifying wise, manageable steps anchored in His Word.
True change begins with a Person. In counseling, we consider how the person and work of Jesus Christ meet you in the specifics of your struggle, depending upon the help of His Spirit in the process of change.
Counseling is personal and collaborative. I take time to know you as an individual and maintain a small caseload so that I can offer thoughtful, personalized care to each counselee.
Care is meant to grow within the life of Christ’s church. When helpful, I collaborate with pastors and church leaders to identify ways you can grow in community and receive ongoing care within your church family.
Carly Robinson’s Story
Getting to Know Me
The Lord brought me to saving faith in my early teens, a time in my life where I was facing significant hardships alone. Jesus broke into my deep suffering, uncertainty, and sin with the power of His Word. In His kindness, He also used the faithful, Scripture-saturated counsel and prayers of an older Christian woman to comfort and mature me. God’s way of preserving and strengthening me instilled in me early on that there is hope in His Word for the deepest of our human troubles. As a biblical counselor, it’s a deep privilege to walk with other women in their suffering and to see firsthand how the riches of Christ and His grace continue to change lives.
I met my husband, Scott, while we were in seminary, and we have been married since 2013. We have two sons and are active in our beloved church (PCA) in Lakeland, Florida, where Scott serves as a ruling elder on staff. When I’m not counseling, I enjoy being in nature, learning new things alongside my boys, wading through a challenging book (sometimes the Puritans, other times Russian novels) and drinking a great latte. I also enjoy creating resources that help others thoughtfully apply God’s Word to counseling-related issues.
